April 12, 2018 by Logan Shea Leave a Comment

Hello All!

We are really excited that one of the Engage for Equity team members – Ellen, an MPH student at the University of New Mexico, recently presented a poster at the New Mexico Public Health Association 2018 Conference. We first would like to congratulate Ellen on a job well done, but also to share the great graphic and information that she presented. The poster discusses the Engage for Equity project and focuses on the development and implementation of the Partnership Data Report (PDR). Please take a look at it below, and let us know what you think!

March 12, 2018 by Logan Shea Leave a Comment

Hello All:

Please see an excellent opportunity through Community-Campus Partnerships for Health! We hope you will all find this useful.

Best to you all.

——-

Community-Campus Partnerships for Health is working to build a Community of Practice and expand our work in Community Review Processes. To achieve this goal, CCPH and Special Service for Groups (R&E) will co-host a 1-Day FREE 2018 Community-Led Research Review Conference: Co-Learning & Connecting around the Table, on April 21, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA at the Children’s Hospital. This conference is for community members with an emerging or existing community research review process (CRP).
The aims of this meeting are to:

1) Articulate CRP roles, review considerations, benefits and impact;

2) Identify priorities for future research such as how CRPs impact health disparities;

3) Deepen the ethics review knowledge of CRP administrators and reviewers;

4) Identify priorities for professional development of CRP administrators and reviewers;

5) Exchange promising practices and address shared challenges; and

6) Establish mechanisms for an ongoing community of practice.

Please visit https://www.ccphealth.org/events/community-based-research-review-event/ for additional details and registration information.

February 27, 2018 by Logan Shea Leave a Comment

Hello All!

We hope this blog post finds you all well. With this post we want to share some summary documents we created after our Engage for Equity project team hosted three two-day workshops on Partnership Reflection and Evaluation Tools in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Twenty-five community-academic health partnerships from around the country attended and participated, and attached are the three “Memorias” or workshop summary documents with photographs and outlines of what was encapsulated in the workshops. We hope they can serve as informative documents for those who did not participate in our workshops and as a refresher for those who joined us in Albuquerque.

September 18-19 Workshop Memoria

October 16-17 Workshop Memoria

October 23-24 Workshop Memoria

Best wishes to you all, and thank you for supporting Community Based Participatory Research!

February 13, 2018 by Logan Shea Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to the E2 Blog!

We understand that as you’re going through this website, reviewing tools, and analyzing survey instruments that it may be a bit confusing. In order to help you out, we want to try to share some of our resources that interpret our resources in a different way. With this in mind, please see the “Vertical” CBPR Conceptual Model – Another way to understand our CBPR Conceptual Model.

Hope this helps! Let us know if this is helpful, more confusing, or if there are other tools you would like to see displayed in a different way!

Engage for Equity Workshop Word Cloud

February 6, 2018 by Logan Shea Leave a Comment

Hello Engage for Equity Readers!

We hope this blog finds you doing well! We wanted to share a quick word cloud that one of our faculty members created after analyzing Partnership Priorities from our recent Engage for Equity Workshops in September and October 2017.

At the end of each workshop, partnerships across the country spoke of their Partnership Priorities going forward, we think the data-driven image below is pretty telling! Thanks to our partnerships for sharing their priorities, and their commitment to creating stronger and more egalitarian community-academic partnerships.
